Jennifer Wheelock, RN

My mother has had several surgeries being 80 years old. At this particular stay my mother was at UPMC Horizon and was in the hospital for a week with a hip replacement. Jennifer was her RN for multiple days during her stay. Jennifer was the kindest, most encouraging nurse my mother has ever had the honor of taking care of her. I can say firsthand what my family witnessed having Jennifer as my mom’s nurse as we would arrive by 8am and stay the entire day with my mom. My mom has had a stroke in the past and can become very confused at times. When my mom was being apologetic for needing so much of Jennifer's attention, Jennifer would reassure her that she was not to worry and that she was there to help her and care for her. She made my mom feel special and secure, which is something she needs. I do not have words for the acknowledgment Jennifer should receive for an amazing job well done. She was the angel my mom needed at that particular moment. UPMC should be honored to have her on staff!
