I was supposed to go on a long-awaited trip to Hawaii with my sweet man. After three years of physical issues that were severe and confining me to home, we had an all-expenses paid trip planned. Unfortunately, I had a severe flare of my health condition and was admitted to the hospital the day we were supposed to leave for Hawaii.
Jennifer Wong-Swanson heard my story, and ended up bringing amazing Hawaiian-themed decorations from her home, on her day off, and decorated my hospital room to everyone's delight while I was having a test done. She was so kind, compassionate, generous, and provided me with the support I needed—but did not expect!
It kept my spirits up throughout my hospital stay, and generated such light, love and positive energy to all around me—and smiles to everyone who entered the room. I wore the flower lei and hairpiece all week. Jen really heard, supported, and provided of herself (and her little daughter, whom she brought and had helped decorate.) This is the essence of human spirit and love...i.e. "nursing". I didn't get to see her again but will be forever grateful.
