My father was diagnosed with leukemia and was admitted to the Oncology floor due to side effects of chemotherapy. His blood counts were critically low, and he needed constant care. All of the staff members were excellent, but one nurse stood out above them all - Jennifer Wright, RN.
Jennifer was my father's nurse for several days. She demonstrated great skills, knowledge, compassion, patience, and care. She took time with the family and my father to always explain what was going on. She always made my father and us feel better by her personality and competence.
My father had several days of running high fevers, and Jennifer spent a lot of time caring for my father. She went above and beyond by staying after shift to ensure he was provided great care. Jennifer went above and beyond not only to take excellent care of my father, but she took time to care for me and my mother. Jennifer was always treating my father and us with wonderful compassionate care and was always focused on what needed to be done to make him better.
Even when Jennifer was not assigned to my father, she would take the time out of her busy day to stop in and check on my father. Jennifer was always willing and took time to answer any questions we had, no matter how busy she was. When she was assigned to my father's care, it always put my father and the family at ease to know she was caring for him. Jennifer always had a great attitude, demeanor, and a wonderful personality. She always took time to care for my father whether it was getting towels, sheets, medication, or just taking time to talk to us to ease our fears. Every day and every minute that Jennifer was caring for my father, she always went above and beyond to provide the best compassionate care for him during these hard times.
Jennifer will always hold a special place with my family and especially my father for the great compassionate and knowledgeable nurse and person that she is. Jennifer is a nurse who truly cares, respects, and is compassionate with her patients. Thank you, Jennifer, for all that you did for my father and my family. You are a true angel.
