My mom, who has dementia, had cataract surgery and Jennifer was our nurse both times. I actually requested her the second time and even though the woman at the same day surgery department check-in desk told me she was sure that couldn't happen. When the doors opened there was Jennifer again and I was immediately put at ease as my mom has dementia and gets easily agitated, confused and doesn't remember short term. When I explained this, Jennifer displayed the utmost compassion and direction with my mom. So extremely caring with an attitude of endless compassion and knowledge, in handling a patient with dementia. She was extraordinary in all aspects. She never treated me like I wasn't in the room with mom. Jennifer is a great asset to your same day surgery department in Detroit Lakes. Jennifer was so very caring and committed to us both having this clinical experience be a good experience. She is a great role model. She demonstrated such a hands-on experience with my mom who was so relaxed with Jennifer because she was recognizable, extremely professional, and compassionate. Jennifer is very knowledgeable in the procedure and can answer all questions. It's been a long time since I have experienced this kind of true to life personal experience. She's one of a kind.
