In my many years of Long Term Care nursing, I have met few nurses as dedicated to improving patient care as Jenny is. Jenny leaves no stone unturned, educating patients and staff alike, as Staff Development Coordinator at Life Care Norfolk. Her passion for creativity and innovation has helped engage staff and continuously promotes residents' well-being. If she is not educating, she is going above and beyond at the bedside - managing wound care, arranging referrals, and cleansing rooms on her downtime. Providing resident-centered care at its finest. Last year, Jenny took on the additional role of Infection Preventionist, leading the way in new CAUTI and CLABSI prevention initiatives. Norfolk saw drastic decreases in their CAUTI infections (down from an average of 9 monthly, to one in a matter of months) and currently zero CLABSIs! Essentially, Jenny represents what nursing is at the heart: A profession of giving that is more than a job. A call to action, a presence of mind and spirit, and a love for serving others. It has been an honor and a privilege to work alongside her, and I look forward to seeing just how far she can go!
