When my daughter was in the cardiac PICU ward, Jenny went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to make me and her dad feel at ease. She explained everything and even on the days we were awaiting to hear about life saving surgery she ensured that our daughter was the top priority with all involved. We just knew that when Jenny had our daughter, or even just her being on shift, she was well cared for and very safe; she was also such a calming influence. She also made time every time she was on to do an amazing diary for our daughter, with so many pictures and beautifully presented, this is something we will cherish at a time that our daughter was at her worst physically. Other reasons include that she pushed us to take our first walk outside in 3 months, on respiratory support, but she made it happen, and also let us be parents by doing things like suggesting an actual bath rather than just a wash in the bed. We are so grateful for the care that our daughter received in CPICU, but we just felt certain staff like Jenny went above and beyond the standard job description; her knowledge, expertise, and passion for all the children on that ward really shone through.
