Jenny assisted escort with one of our OB discharge patients. While she was in the discharge area, she saw a man who had been discharged from another unit (not sure which one) and was waiting for his wife to pick him up. Jenny noticed that the bandage covering his arm where the IV had been taken out was saturated with blood. Jenny called the OB unit and requested tape, gauze, and gloves be brought down to her. She helped the man into his car, took off the old bandage and held pressure until she was sure there was no active bleeding. She then secured the area with a clean bandage. She told the man she wouldn't let him leave that way and told him, "This is curbside hospital assistance". Jenny went above and beyond to make sure this patient was taken care of!
