Jenny has been a nurse for just over 7 years, mostly on 8 Medical. When she is working, it's as if there is a different energy on the unit. When working the floor, Jenny's a go-to for IV insertion, policy hunting, patient de-escalation, or just putting 2 heads together when there's a tough patient situation or decisions to make. This year as one of our Core COVID Nurses, she stepped up to be part of the fight against COVID-19 with compassion, creating laminated tags with photos showing what the nurses smiling faces look like behind the masks. And as a member of our newly founded Unit Based Practice Council, Jenny has helped create beautiful motivational posters which have both encouraged caregivers to share their voices in important surveys and decorated the unit! Jenny's biggest strength is as an Educator. She is well-known as a top choice for precepting Nurse Residents, due to her ability to role model, explain the "why" behind things, and deliver meaningful feedback that results in prudent nursing care. Her approachability has actually resulted in her being specifically requested as a preceptor by a nurse resident whose friend from a previous cohort got to work with her.
