January 2016 Honoree
jenny hall, RN
A father recently brought his 8-year-old daughter to the ED to be seen. He was frustrated because the child was fighting him. She was tearful, very afraid, and kept trying to leave. Jenny Hall was the triage nurse and saw the situation in the lobby. She spoke with the father, then sat down near the child and started talking with her in a very soothing voice, explaining what she was going to do and how nothing would hurt. Very soon, Jenny won the child over and took her into the triage room. By the time Jenny was done, the child was smiling and went willingly to a treatment room. When she was discharged, she left the ED smiling and waving goodbye!
Thank you, Jenny, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
