At 31 weeks and 1 day into my pregnancy, I started showing signs of preterm labor. That had to have been one of the scariest moments I have ever experienced. I was sent straight to Labor and Delivery triage where Jenny took care of me. She was so sweet and really calmed my nerves. As an employee, I know how great our nurses are, but Jenny went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. From explaining everything she was doing to telling me about herself just to take my mind off of the pain I was having. As emotional and scared as I was, she never let me go into a panic. I learned that Jenny is not only an amazing nurse but also an amazing mother. She took in her husband's children as her own, as their mom had passed away, and she did this while already having had her own child very young. She also shared that her mother passed away when she was young and that allowed her to feel a very special bond with her stepchildren. To take all of that on so young is so courageous. I can't imagine how hard it is to have four children and take care of scared pregnant women every day, but she does it all with a smile. I am forever thankful that God chose Jenny to be my triage nurse that day. Thankfully, they were able to get me to where I was able to go home healthy and still carrying my little guy for a few more weeks.
