Jenny turned my wife's third birth experience into her best birth experience yet. When my wife was struggling with pain, Jenny worked with the physician team to get it under control. Recognizing that my wife struggled with getting her catheter removed because of traumatic memories centered on bladder surgery as a child, Jenny was extra compassionate with the removal. Seeing that my wife was afraid of potential bladder retention issues, Jenny shared tips and tricks, took the pressure off the situation, and encouraged my wife to trust her body. Jenny seemed to intuit that some of my wife's fears surrounding her birth experience were connected to prior poor experiences with other births at other hospitals, Jenny broke through the unclear logic that this time would be like previous times, and consistently presented the hypothesis that each of these days at St. Francis could be the best day yet. In so doing, Jenny helped my wife savor some of the most memorable days of her life - refusing to allow pain, discomfort, and uncertainty to win out over joy and anticipation. Jenny sought out second opinions, alternative medical equipment to improve results, and new routines, refusing to sacrifice and instead insisting on continuous process improvement. Jenny is a clear credit to her profession, this hospital, and the church it represents.
