Jenny is the face of DAISY at Cerner Corporation.
As the chair and leader of the Cerner DAISY Program, she has been leading the process and selection committee for the past several years. Jenny developed her relationship with Bonnie and Mark Barnes, and over the years has embraced their personal mission of recognizing outstanding nurses across the country and across the world. Jenny has given unselfishly of her time to champion the DAISY program at Cerner and continues to promote, market, and grow the DAISY Award. The DAISY recognition is now seen as a very prestigious recognition for our nurses who typically will tell you that they are "just doing their jobs".
Jenny is the first to ask what can we do for nurses, or we need to be sure that we think about the nurses. She does this with not only her client interactions and is a steadfast advocate for the nurses, but also displays the caring and compassion for all of her fellow nurses and clinicians at Cerner. She established that personal connection that fosters trust and competence with each of the clients who she engages with as part of her Nursing Executive role. She continues to be a lifelong student of the industry, and of our Nursing Informatics profession. When posed a question by one of her clients, she is relentless in her pursuit of an answer. She does not simply pass this on to someone else to give her an answer, she exhausts her resources to learn, find, and fully understand the solution and the implications for her clients with this answer.
