Jenny was with us through all of it. She provided us with attentive, gracious, and tender care through our heartache.
At the end of July, we experienced the worst weekend of our life. My water broke at 16 weeks pregnant, and I quickly became septic. After extremely thorough testing and 4 ultrasounds where we got to see our baby boy moving and his little heart beating, it was confirmed that my membranes ruptured, and we had no choice but to deliver E far too soon into this world. Jenny was with us through all of it. She provided us with attentive, gracious, and tender care through our heartache. She hoped with us through moments we thought it could possibly get better, guided us through, and prepared us gently for what was coming. She cared for us, my son, and my family in ways above and beyond what we could have imagined. She provided us with teddy bears for our two kids that they still sleep with and say are from their baby brother. She cared for E so sweetly and let us pick out beautiful blankets to wrap and hold him in that were perfect. She knew when we needed space with our family and when we needed her to be with us. Because of the way she encouraged us and walked with us, we have memories with E that were only possible for those short days and that we can't re-do. It feels weird to say we are thankful for something while we have heavy hearts but we are so incredibly thankful for the care we received through Jenny and all of the L&D staff.
