My daughter L was admitted to Ward 53 Trauma Critical Care following sustaining injuries. Her injuries were serious. Jenny's calm, caring, non-judgemental approach made such a difference in what was a traumatic time in our lives. Jenny cared for my daughter with so much patience, keeping us involved as much as she could. Jenny made sure I was able to stay with my daughter throughout her time of 12 days in hospital and offered reassurance, honesty, and a realistic explanation of our worries and concerns. When our daughter's operation was canceled she again reassured us, gave calm information, and supported us all, treating us all as important. L's operation went ahead 2 days later. Jenny kept us updated checking if L was in recovery and telling us how procedures work with staff changeover etc. All of this gave us such reassurance and helped us feel safe, and reassured that our daughter was in the absolute best hands. When L showed signs of improvement she treated her with respect, care, and dignity. We feel that at the worst time of our lives, Jenny was the only reason we didn't collapse and fall apart, and even on the night I did fall apart she allowed an HCA to take me outside for some fresh air. I won't ever be able to repay her above and beyond kindness. Jenny is a true DAISY Nurse.
