December 2020 Honoree
Jenny Mucciarone, RN
I came to Baptist on the night after Thanksgiving. My water had broken at 19 weeks. I was scared to death and heartbroken. I thought my pregnancy was over. I was told I would go into labor and my baby would not survive because it was too early. Then, I got nurse Jenny. When we met, I'm sure I was in tears, but she was so positive. Her words were the encouragement I needed at the perfect time. Not in the exact words, but she told me that this was not a definite end to anything. She said that she had seen similar cases, and everything worked out. It was like the clouds moved away. I did not know this woman, but at that moment, I felt like she could see straight through me. She said the perfect thing. I was so hurt and ready to fall apart but she was the reason I did not.
When I was readmitted, I was so happy to have her as one of my nurses. Three months later, I had an emergency c-section and nurse Jenny was with me again. She was calm the entire time which helped me to remain calm even though I was alone. I'm so glad she was there. I truly believe God placed me with nurse Jenny because I needed her. I don't know her last name but thank you so much! You mean more to me than you will ever know.
