As I walk through the ICU to work in the throes of the pandemic feeling scared and anxious, Jenny always brings a smile to my face. She is a bright light that shines in this world even through all the darkness.
One day at work in the midst of the pandemic we shared our feelings of the profound sadness, trauma, and anxiety we have experienced along with our worry for our fellow nurses. That day Jenny sent an email to our administration sharing our concerns and requesting action. The administration quickly responded and we began our group therapy. This group has healed my heart and given me the space I need to be vulnerable and connect with nurses I admire and love like Jenny.
I did not know this was what I needed to heal. Jenny did.
