Jenny constantly goes above and beyond to care for her patients and is well liked by her peers on the unit. Jenny was an outstanding caregiver to a patient who was with us at Memorial for over a month. The patient was severely obese with a BMI >100. Jenny took the time to find the bariatric chair from 2 south, got orders so that the patient could get out of bed, and then got the patient up in the chair and stayed with her the entire time due to the patient's acuity and anxiety. A few days later I had the patient for the first time and she told me all about how wonderful Jenny was to her and that she felt like a real person, not just a patient. After the patient was transferred to her care facility in Memphis, Jenny found a local florist and got a few of us to chip in so we could send her flowers to welcome her to her new facility. Jenny also called the facility a couple of days after the patient's arrival to check on her and say hello. The patient was brought to tears by Jenny's kindness. Jenny demonstrated amazing compassion to this patient.
