Jens's actions were little but mighty in our eyes. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I feel for him just for moving her hair out of her face.
Jens is not only the most compassionate nurse I met while in ICU, but he answered all of our questions with such knowledge and confidence. He also brought the doctor to the bedside anytime we asked and was very attentive to our needs as well as my sister's. We will be forever grateful for his care of my beloved sister!
Jens was the only nurse I saw take such care and compassion in everything he did for my sister, who was rapidly passing from cancer. When he would remove her bipap mask to give her medication, he would fix her hair and get it out of her face as he replaced the mask. He asked all of the family if he could get us drinks or anything to help us be more comfortable. He also came in on her last day and read a letter to my sister from her husband because none of us were able to read it. We all felt his emotions coming through as he read the letter, and that just shows me how caring and empathetic he is.
Jens's actions were little but mighty in our eyes. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I feel for him just for moving her hair out of her face. My sister was very particular about her hair and wanted it to be down and look "normal" even with this giant mask on her head, but I watched it be in her face and all over the place every time someone put the mask back on her except for him; he actually took the time to notice that and fix it.
