Her positive attitude and diligence in doing her job with her heart and not just her head, encouraged him to keep fighting and believing that he was going to be alright.
Jentri Lake was a God sent to my family when my son-in-law was hospitalized at your facility. She gave such attentive care to my son-in-law at a time when he faced a most uncertain future. Her positive attitude and diligence in doing her job with her heart and not just her head, encouraged him to keep fighting and believing that he was going to be alright. There were days when everything was so touch and go with him and stressful for my daughter, it was her presence, her warm smile and positive energy that helped them to keep the faith and believe there was a light at the end of this tunnel. She was very comforting to my daughter, as well as an advocate at times for her when she needed help in assuring my son-in-law got the proper care he needed. There are so many ways that Jentri went beyond to assist and comfort our family. Always exemplifying professionalism, showing respect for the individual, being patient and courteous. I told Jentri nursing wasn’t just a job for her, but it was also a ministry that truly blessed people. Jentri’s nursing skills are impeccable and exceptional, my family and I are most thankful for the huge role she played in my son-in-law’s recovery.

My Husband is a retired Jaguar and NFL player. In December our entire life was turned upside down…as we were leaving from our niece’s birthday party, my husband lost all mobility and his heart soared into stroke level. The ambulance was called, and he was taken to Baptist South. Through the night and into the next morning, a series of tests were taken. While waiting for results an orthopedic neurosurgeon was called in to review his condition. After reviewing his images, the neurosurgeon decided to do emergency surgery on his spine. My husband went through a seven-hour surgery that I am thankful to God to say was successful. He was in ICU recovering for 8 days. He was then transferred to PCU where we met Ms. Jentri Lake. God Blessed us with an amazing nurse, Ms. Jentry Lake, who went above and beyond for us! She has fought for us, listened to us, heard us, and advocated for us every step of the way. We later found out that Ms. Jentry fell 40 ft and she too had to have a similar surgery on her spine and had to learn how to walk again. Her energy and love truly lifted us and helped pull my Husband out of one of the darkest moments in his life. There were days that my husband wanted to mentally break but she refused to let him… Her presence gave us hope and inspiration. The energy she exudes gave us peace in the middle of some pretty tough days. Her Positive outlook on life helped strengthen our faith. Her commitment gave us a sense of security and peace that surpassed all understanding. This lady works her butt off and is always smiling and gracious. Jentri took her time to do the simple things like taking my husband for a stroll through the serenity garden just to get fresh air and feel sunshine. She helped him stretch his muscles, made him feel comfortable when he couldn’t manage his bodily functions on his own, and encouraged him to get up, even got him on a daily regimen that he began to look forward to as he saw himself progressing. When he was given meds that he was allergic to she not only listened but actually heard us and helped advocate on his behalf. She carries a light that is undeniable and everyone in the hospital that knows her goes on and on about her compassion, commitment, professionalism, leadership, and diligence that she exemplifies with everyone. Ms. Jentri helped restore our faith back in Baptist. Her team, which both honor and respect her, rallied around her and together they followed her guidance and allowed her light to shine bright throughout our stay. Words cannot express our gratitude. It is people like her that go the extra mile just because it is the right thing to do, that make a real difference in the world. Thank You Ms. Jentri Lake for everything. Baptist You are truly Blessed to have such a God-sent individual on your team!

Ms. Lake was more than compassionate, sweet, and understanding. She was a breath of fresh air who helped our family see our way through a very difficult time! She listened and advocated when we felt that others weren’t hearing our concerns. The attention she paid to my brother made us feel like he was the only patient she had, and we know that wasn’t the case. She is exactly what a patient and family members need from a healthcare professional, and she should be recognized for her effort and hard work. While visiting my brother, I had the opportunity to meet Ms. Lake and she was an absolute joy to be around. A true ray of sunshine in the midst of a cloudy day. My sister was a bit frustrated with the overall situation combined with feeling as if her concerns fell on deaf ears with some of the staff, but Ms. Lake listened, heard, and advocated! Sharing her personal testimony was also motivation and encouragement for my brother. She is a shining example of what patients, and their families need from a healthcare professional during difficult times!

Thank you, Jentri, for all you do for our patients, families, and team members! Congratulations on winning the DAISY Award!
