What a great man and incredible nurse. Tonight, Jeremy was on his way home from working a long, busy shift in the ER when he noticed a lady walking up the hill towards the hospital. He turned around to check on her. It was 7:30 pm, totally dark and snowing hard. This mother was carrying her 2-year-old daughter, all 30 pounds of her, up the snowy walk to have her daughter seen in the ER for fever and dehydration. He loaded them into his warm, dry car, made sure her vehicle wassecure, and brought them to the ER. He then made sure the RN knew that the mother's car was at the bottom of the hill and to make sure she would have a ride back to her car when she was discharged.
When I told this story to the admissions clerk, she said that Jeremy also walked a patron into the hospital last night. The parking lot was extremely slippery and he held onto the patron, making sure they got into the ER safely without falling.
Jeremy is the epitome of what a compassionate, competent, and professional RN should be. He greets them with a smile, communicates on their level, uses appropriate vocabulary, portrays kindness and genuine concern, and gets them the professional care they need. I truly enjoy working when he is working. His patientsreceivethe utmost care from him. He is very willing to help others in the department, always displays optimism, and never has an unkind word to say. When he is around, I am motivated and encouraged to be a better person. Thank you. I'm so glad you are part of our team!
