July 2026 Honoree
Jeremy Reed, RN
My dad has a history with the Heart Hospital.
We frequent this hospital and have had experiences both good and bad. It was after 6:00 pm. I was on the website and ready to send a complaint concerning our experience with wait time, and my request for an X-ray machine to help find my dad’s vein because he’s a hard stick. We’ve been through this many times, and you don’t get to play pin cushion with him.
The initial nurse understood and left to report to the nurse in charge. Another nurse decides that she’s going to “try.” And not once but twice, and can’t get it. Yes, my dad is upset, I’m not happy, and still no stick for an IV. We were notified that there was not a nurse available who could operate the machine.
Jeremy, with his backpack, water bottle, and all, was leaving for the evening. He stopped at our bed and asked if we needed an IV. I said, "Yes, but we had two unsuccessful sticks." He put his stuff down and handled business. He got it done, first try!
That’s real customer service. No hesitation, no questions, no problems. If this type of service doesn’t warrant some type of recognition, then there is none to be recognized. He went above and beyond to meet the needs of my dad, the customer. A Vietnam veteran, great father, paw paw, man of God, and congestive heart failure patient.
We appreciate Jeremy Reed, and I am forever grateful for the selflessness he showed to my dad.
