Jerry is an active role model for his fellow students exhibiting nursing skills and knowledge that will continue to be the foundation of his nursing career. During the Winter 2022 snowstorms, Jerry advocated for an elderly patient to initiate services so that the patient could be discharged and make it home safely during one of the storms. This prevented the patient from having to stay in the hospital because of dangerous weather when medically cleared. Jerry contacted local services and was successful in getting the patient's home driveway and walkway cleared of snow and transportation set up for discharge. He became an advocate for the patient and was able to correspond with services that nurses on the unit were not even aware of. Jerry definitely changed this patient's outcome for the Best!
