Everyone in the organization knows Jesee Castro. Everyone in the organization knows that he is the man with all the answers! He is the go-to person. Jesee is the person that even the Nursing Executive Directors call when they need the job done and they need it done right! Countless times Jesse is assigned to a task that does not involve him or his line. He completes these tasks in a timely manner, educates other managers on the task, collaborates with nursing staff to see the best workflow, and remains humble the whole time.

I always ask Jesee, “How do you do it all?”. His answer is always the same… “It’s the right thing for the patient, the nurse, and the organization.”   When Jesee onboarded me as an ICU manager, he gave me that advice and told me I could never go wrong if I asked myself those 3 questions: Is it right for the patient? Is it right for the nurse? Is it right the organization? I feel this is what makes Jesee an irreplaceable nurse leader at City of Hope. He truly lives out his commitments.  I have the pleasure of seeing him work behind the scenes, most people just see the outcomes that he produces. You would all be amazed at the level of passion he possesses: emails sent at 2 am, checking on staff on the weekends, jumping on projects that he can aid in, etc.
