Our son was in ICU for nearly a month. He received excellent care from the entire staff. Jess Graffell stood out in every way. His attention to detail was extraordinary. He always seemed to care about every detail of our son’s care. He would explain every procedure, whether he was conscious or not. Jess also asked many questions and furthered our understanding of the treatment our son was receiving. Compassionate and caring to the degree that after my wife and I had spent 12 or more hours a day visiting, we could go home and be secure in our hearts, that our son would get only the very best of care. He treated our son as if he was his son. He really enjoyed Jess’s sense of humor which was always appropriate and encouraging. All of us soon realized that the medical care was more than just a job for Jess. It seemed to be a calling. I know that he must have had other patients in ICU, but his tireless efforts made it seem as if our son had a personal caregiver. What a credit to Kaiser Permanente Hospital and the medical profession. We will thank God for Jess always!
