Jess is a wonderful nurse. Her smile each day she greeted me lit up the room. Jess was very attentive to my needs. Told me everything as she was doing it. Explained all info as needed, above all treated me respectfully and in a kind way! Thanks, Jess!

I would like to thank Jessica "Jess" for all her hard work, dedication, service, collaboration, and compassionate nature. I received a call from a family friend regarding his father and that he was at the GCH due to having issues breathing the prior night and that they feel that is time for hospice and his dad wanted to go home. He said I know it's 5 PM and I am not sure that we can get it all rolling, but can you talk with Jess at GCH and see what we need to do, the patient's wife is there and she is going to talk with Jess and call you too. I called over to talk with Jess, who actually was calling me at that time, too! She identified what was going on with the patient, what changes he had throughout the day and what his wishes were, and what the family's wishes were. I identified that I would be over to talk with them. With COVID, everything has been difficult with entry into health care facilities, I was met with great respect and accommodation from the moment I entered the facility. Jess went up and beyond to assist me in getting things ready for the patient to go home to die which was his wish as well as his family's wish. She was at the end of her shift, actually, I believe that she was past the end of her shift according to the clock, but I would have bever known that by her actions. She collaborated with me regarding the ambo transfer, the medications, and how it all needed to go for the patient to transition safely, and as comfortably as he could.
She received many praises from the family during the time in which I was at the hospital and also throughout the time the patient was with us. They would say I cannot believe you two girls got us home. I believe that Jess did some extraordinary things, not for recognition, but because that is who she is. I do not know her personally, but professionally she is a class act that GCH is lucky to have serving their patients. I want to thank Jess for her caring nature and promptness with the family and being there for them, and I want to thank her for all the help that she provided me in helping carry out a dying man's wish to be at home with his family for the remainder of his life. The patient lived for about 2 ½ days after his return home. The sharing of stories, the sitting at the bedside, the laughs, the cries, the pizza, and the family time that she had a part in helping to provide the patient and family is forever priceless. Hats off to you Jess! You are one in a million and I thank you for all you have done and all you have yet to do, you are bound for greatness!
