Three years ago my father was nursed by Jesse for about a week. We were very pleased at that time for the great care he received in the unit.
This month my husband was admitted to the same unit and on Friday, I was pleased to arrive and find that Jesse was his nurse. Again, Jesse was helping my husband with his kind, professional manner. I could see how he was checking on S's memory issues without him even knowing. He kind of sneaked in treatment so it was part of visiting rather than treating. This makes his patients feel comfortable and encouraged S to try. During my husband's stay at St. Joseph's, he moved to a medical/surgical ward. He had to have a catheter inserted at least four times. That is another area where Jesse rose to the top. He inserted the catheter with less pain and trauma than other staff members. A gentle touch, a quiet voice and lots of humor got my husband through. We were lucky to have been admitted here for the few days.
