Jessi's patient was admitted to NCH through the emergency room. Her patient was unable to have a family member here during her admission. In addition, the patient was not familiar with NCH and none of her medical records were accessible to help with care decisions and discharge plans. Communication was very difficult. Jessi took time out of her busy day to call the patient's daughter on the phone and the patient explained what happened, what care was and will be provided, and discharge plans. The patient's daughter, being a nurse herself, was so appreciative that Jessi answered all of her questions in a very knowledgeable and caring way. It made all the difference in her patient and family's experience. Jessi is an Extraordinary Nurse!
