January 2025 Honoree
Jessi Reber, RN
Mom celebrated her 90th birthday during her four months in hospice. Her hospice nurse, Jessi, provided the medical care Mom needed, especially during her final days. Mom loved Jessi and was so thankful for her. It was easy for Mom to know Jessi was the best for her. We (Mom's daughter and four sons) could not have asked for anyone more skilled, kind, and caring to help Mom. Jessi knows pancreatic cancer can be very painful. Jessi's Dad had pancreatic cancer. Jessi's communication to family members was accurate, frequent, and so appreciated. Jessi helped us to know the care options for Mom and also what to expect as Mom's health transitioned in her apartment. During Mom's final days, she told Jessi, "I'm disappointed to see you today; I thought I'd be in heaven." We all wanted to nominate Jessi for a DAISY, especially Mom.
Thank you, Jessi, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
