Jessibeth is consistently recognized by her patients as being very compassionate, having a beautiful personality, being very thorough with her nursing care, and having a very good bedside manner. Jessibeth is very helpful to her peers and goes above and beyond for the unit. Jessibeth is very patient focused and a reliable nurse.

One time, we had a very challenging patient. The patient and wife were very difficult to please. I was called to the room so the wife could tell me about the excellent care they received from Jessibeth. According to the wife, she has a very good heart and she spent a lot of time making them comfortable.

We once had a patient who was mentally challenged, who came in for a seizure. The patient was with us for more than a year because of placement issues. No family member could take him except for his grandparents who were out of town. Unfortunately, his grandparents were admitted to the hospital so he had to stay with us longer. Every night, when I was working, the patient would call asking for Jessibeth. At first, I did not pay attention, I would just tell Jessie that the patient was looking for her. She would reply, "OK, I will go". I was curious why the patient kept asking if she was working. One night, I discreetly followed her into the patient's room and I heard her saying a prayer. So, when she left, I went to the patient's room and asked the patient why he was always looking for Jessibeth. The patient replied "I asked her to pray rosary with me".
Jessibeth never mentioned to anybody that she spent time with the patient even if she was not the nurse. She would find ways to find extra time even if she was busy. She developed a bond with the patient by showing that she cares. The love that she put with her work is amazing. The mere fact that this patient is mentally challenged and won't be able to thank and recognize Jessibeth, for going above and beyond her duty, is proof of how compassionate she is to all her patients. Jessibeth is truly an amazing nurse with a sincere heart.
