Jessica A. Sandoval, RN

I have been a L&D RN for almost 29 years. I’ve seen nurses come and go but I am so amazed by one nurse in particular. Jessica has some genuine care & compassion not only for her patients but her co-workers also. I’ve witnessed firsthand how she goes above and beyond for her patients. She always has a positive attitude and encourages and lifts up her coworkers. She’s ready to lend a helping hand and does so with excellent care at all times. I’ll give you an example of just how far she goes out of her way in providing top-notch patient care. Jessica had a fetal demise patient who was hungry but did not like the food we had. Jessica took it upon herself to order food for this patient to bring comfort to this patient. She also stayed at her bedside and held her hand to provide support while this mom delivered. I am positive this patient felt she had excellent care from Jessica. I also saw a fellow nurse who had a birthday and we found out about it the same day. Jessica went out of her way to get a cake for this nurse on her dinner break to help celebrate this nurse. I could go on & on about the things I’ve seen Jessica do but not room. The DAISY Award celebrates excellent clinical skills & compassion in all one dose. And you will not find a more deserving nurse. I don’t write recommendations at all so to find one truly deserving nurse who epitomizes what it means to be a DAISY Nurse is a first. It’s truly an honor to work with Jessica.
