Jessica A Sheppard, BSN, RN, BC

I am nominating Nurse Jessica because of her outstanding treatment of me as a patient. I came in with severe anxiety and other symptoms, and Jessica helped comfort me and give me hope when I was in an unreachable, feared state of panic. She helped inform me of hospital standards so I could get used to an unfamiliar environment, and I quickly became accustomed to living in a locked unit. Adjusting to an abnormal situation is difficult but Jessica tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible, she even took the time to chat with me, checking in on my family and making sure I was doing okay. Nurses risk and sacrifice their time and well-being to care for their patients, so I am immensely grateful to her and all the other staff on this floor.
