Jessica Atkinson, RN

Jessica Atkinson fits the criteria so well, that it could have been written to describe her. Her clinical expertise was evident as she patiently answered all of our questions in terms that we could understand. Extraordinary and compassionate don’t fully explain the care she provided. She coordinated family care as much as patient care without sacrificing either. When needed, she called for additional help from Palliative Care and prodded other staff to meet the needs of the patient and family. She even stayed past her shift to see our family through to the end. Her strength and calm manner, her skilled advocacy for patients, and her warm and friendly demeanor are outstanding attributes. She is a true role model for nurses everywhere!
