Jessica is a very humble leader who does not seek recognition but seeks doing the right thing. She is a master at stepping outside of a situation and seeing all sides. She has influenced many nurse managers and frontline coworkers with her positive attitude, active listening, and ability to respectfully challenge. She allows people to feel heard. She has been instrumental in the transitions to and from COVID units. She is a supportive leader who has instilled in her managers to do the right thing. She is a true example of Mercy caring for her coworkers. I have personally been through some very challenging personal times during my Nurse Manager time at Mercy and not once did I feel as if Jessica would give up on me or not do her very best to understand and still see the good. She lent her ears and her heart to me and I will forever be grateful. Her actions show the level of care she has for our coworkers. Over the past few years, Jessica has challenged her team to evaluate what more they could do for our community. Maybe just one more patient…She has been the driver in changing the culture from we just can’t do it, to let’s figure out how to do it. She is truly a leader to admire.
