Jessica Butery, LPN

Jessica did exceptional work with an inmate in our facility. This inmate came in with difficulty breathing. Jessica did a complete physical exam and noticed decreased breath sounds. She contacted me right away and we ordered a chest xray. This inmate had a large pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and many areas of infection. Jessica worked with me to get this patient to the hospital. The inmate left AMA and ultimately ended up back in our jail. Jessica helped me to reach his pulmonology, set up a chest CT and follow up appointments with the pulmonology team. Her accurate assessment that this patient needed urgent care and her persistence in obtaining his needed testing and specialist appointments show her true commitment to the inmates and getting them the care they need.
