Jessi is a nurse who takes the time to listen and get to know her peers and patients. She is always a patient advocate and listens to what is worrying her patients at the time of care. I see multiple letters of recognition from her previous patients that make comments such as, "she listens to my problems", and "she is so caring, I just love her". She is also bilingual and she is often assigned and/or pulled to assist with patients who speak Spanish. Jessi is passionate about helping other staff and patients to aide in communication. Communication is key and a hospitalization can be a vulnerable place - especially if you can't understand what is going on. She has spent time away from work to identify communication barriers and has created sheets for our staff to use on step by step checklist on how to use other resources with our Spanish speaking patients. Jessi is a blessing to have on our team and I want her to know how much of a difference she makes to her patients and peers.
