Being admitted to the hospital is distressing for any individual. Add to that, your employment at the hospital, and it could lead to an uncomfortable situation. That is the very situation Jessica's patient found herself in. Fortunately, the outcome was much more positive than she had hoped. Her patient noted, "Jessica always made me feel at complete ease and supported me in actively participating in my treatment regimen. She shared a professional maturity well beyond her years of experience."

This is high praise to receive from a colleague who knows first-hand the complex role of a caregiver, but on this occasion was seeing things from the perspective of a patient. Jessica is a new nurse who has shown in a short period of time her dedication to improving each one of her patient's health and to the overall profession of nursing.
