Jessica started out working here as a graduate nurse and has grown by leaps and bounds. She started as a med surg nurse and has flourished in the ER setting. She always is putting patient care above all things. For example, a patient came through the ER doors and states he isn’t feeling well. Immediately the nurse starts triaging this patient and then provides doc with an update.

After realizing that this patient is critically ill, she starts scrambling and working faster knowing that time is not on her side all while remaining calm. Keep in mind it is now long past her shift for her to go home, yet she refuses to leave as she is determined to get this patient transferred out the door. After many obstacles such as the helicopters not flying due to weather, and no ACLS rigs in the area to transport. He eventually was transferred with a BLS rig which was turned into an ACLS rig by having nursing staff ride along.

This patient survived due to the quick wit of the nurse who acted promptly as soon as this patient came through the door. Jessica is hardworking, and energetic and picks up extra shifts when needed to ensure our patients are safe and receiving exceptional care. Her compassion, work ethic, and selflessness are seen each time she enters the doors to work.
