I was immediately admitted to the ER for weakness in my right arm. My concern was that I might have had a stroke. I mentioned this to let the reader know my level of stress and anxiety. Upon admission, Jessica introduced herself as my nurse, and she said she would be taking care of me. Her bedside manner was excellent. She was quick and efficient with a light touch and barely a prick with my blood draw.
Sensing my concern, she explained what she was doing in easy-to-understand terms as she performed her tasks according to protocol.

Most importantly, even when I couldn't see her while being hooked up to monitors, I could 'hear her smile' when she talked to me. I felt heard when I asked any questions. After performing tests according to protocol multiple times, she assured me that I was in a great facility.
It is a source of immense comfort and relief when a patient who is worried has a caregiver like Jessica, who possesses excellent bedside manner and takes the time to listen and understand the patient's questions, ensuring they feel heard. She also checked on me periodically and addressed any needs.
