Jessica Cucchi, BSN, RN, CMSRN
Jessica led the way in providing extraordinary care for a dying patient, whose wish was to experience swimming one final time. Coordinating with a multi-disciplinary care team, she orchestrated the carrying out of the patient’s wish. The patient was able to go to the Physical Therapy therapeutic swimming pool. With a team of nurses, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists the patient’s seemingly impossible wish was realized. This amazing act was powerful. It affected every person who knew about it and experienced it. I would seldom speak for others, but I feel I speak for everyone when I say that words can’t do justice to how truly fortunate we all are to work with a nurse as extraordinary as Jessica.
