I am so glad that I chose Southeast Medical Center for my health care. I needed an oncologist and a friend referred me to Southeast. Everyone has been wonderful: the personnel manning the front entrances, outpatient services, my oncologist and her staff, my patient advocate and especially Infusion services. I was extremely nervous and anxious about receiving chemotherapy until I met Nurse Jessica Case! Without Jessica's kindness, patience, and positive attitude, I would not have gotten through most of my treatments.

On my first day, Jessica sensed my hesitation, and she instinctively scooped me up to be her “special patient.” We bonded immediately! During treatments, Jessica calmly explained everything that she was doing, from accessing my port, to explaining the dose and type of chemo drug I was receiving. Jessica helped me with my “cold therapy” and was always concerned for my comfort. She always asked if I needed anything to eat or drink, or did I need a blanket, and did I need help to the bathroom. I had many hours in the infusion room to observe Jessica and even though I was her “special patient,” I could see that she made each and every one of her patients feel “special,” just like me.

She was always busy doing something for someone and was always helping her team members. Her positive attitude was so encouraging. Her words were always, “you did good or great!” Because of Jessica’s calmness and upbeat attitude, most of my fears subsided, and I actually looked forward to chemo day! When I become distraught over ending my treatments early, Jessica was there with words of comfort. I was very blessed to have her as my infusion nurse. She is an awesome person!

Jessica is a kind, caring, and compassionate nurse which she shows to the world with her positive upbeat attitude, and with a love for her profession. Thank you Jessica for holding my hand and reassuring me that I could get through the chemo treatments. I could not have done this without you!
