My purpose in writing this note is to say “thank you” to this dedicated team of professionals who, in my opinion, provided me with the best possible care I could expect or imagine.
I’m writing today to let you know about a recent experience I had. I was scheduled for outpatient surgery. Unfortunately, I had a severe allergic reaction to a medication within seconds of it being administered. Apparently, my blood pressure spiked, I was sweating profusely, suffered dry heaves, and may have faded in and out of consciousness as the sequence of events that took place was not all that clear in my mind. However, I do recall that within seconds of informing the Anesthesiologist, immediately a team of nurses attended to me.
Those nurses are Jessica Denneny, Alexandra Wright, and Manager G. The one thing that I do remember with clarity is that, at one point, I opened my eyes to see myself surrounded by these extremely skilled, talented, and dedicated nurses surrounding me in a wall of blue doing what they were trained to do in a most expedient and efficient manner. Needless to say, my surgery was canceled and rescheduled for a later date. The reason for my writing to you is to tell you how thankful I am to those dedicated professionals as they worked to stabilize me. Having never experienced anything like that before, I had no idea what was happening to me or how serious it was. I do know that as I lay there, they were running tests, taking blood samples, monitoring my vital signs, and who knows what else they determined necessary to ensure my safety and well-being. My purpose in writing this note is to say “thank you” to this dedicated team of professionals who, in my opinion, provided me with the best possible care I could expect or imagine.
It took about 4 hours to feel well enough to be discharged. During that time, each and every one of them stopped by to check on my progress, and every one of them asked if there was anything I needed. A true display of caring and compassion. The second reason is to nominate those highly talented professionals for The DAISY Foundation Award as, in my opinion, those dedicated professionals rose to the calling of their chosen profession. Thirdly, I know that in today’s world, people are quick to complain but not so quick to compliment. So, conversely, I thought I’d relay my personal experience with my thanks and gratitude to those dedicated professionals, whether or not they are chosen for this award.
