I was in the hospital after having a brain tumor removed. The tumor was discovered on a Thursday afternoon and by Friday evening; the surgery to remove it was over. It was so quick and unexpected that I was very overwhelmed. My nurse came in like a ray of sunshine with her perky voice and smile. Her bright headband and great attitude. I had visitors coming in and out from out of town and she treated them as cheerfully as she treated me. She explained to me what was going on and what to expect. Everything I asked for she delivered. My second morning in the hospital when I woke up I was overwhelmed and depressed. The reality of what had happened set in. She was off that day but she came in to "fill in" for someone. She came into my room to find out what was going on with my attitude. She changed my attitude back into a positive one. Her care and bright attitude were instrumental in my recovery!
