Jessica had a patient that was to go to CT scan to r/o a PE. Transport picked the patient up and took them to surgery instead. Jessica went with her patient to surgery and in pre-op asked the staff nurse if the patient would get his CT before surgery. The OR staff nurse was unaware of the suspected PE and immediately arranged for the patient to go to CT. Great save Jessica! The outcome could have been detrimental for this patient. Excellent autonomy for your patient's safety.
