Jessica Eineichner assisted a difficult patient who was not assigned to her. The patient was very rude and demanding, yet Jessica continued to care for him. Finally, he yelled an unspeakable insult at Jessica. She came out of the patient's room with her face beet red and ordered him 2 coffees and four sugars from Dietary. She also made sure the patient received his 5 pm medications.
I know that many people will think, "Well, great job, insults come with being a nurse." I would have to disagree. I believe many nurses would have walked away or just relayed the message to the nurse caring for the patient, but not her. She continued to care for him with tears in her eyes. Jessica Eineichner goes above and beyond to help anyone she can.
