During my first chemo treatment at St. Rose San Martin, I was on my fifth day of a very harsh cycle. I was nauseous, fatigued and depressed, but my wonderful angel nurse Jessica sang a lullaby to me as she wiped my forehead with a damp cloth. She soothed me, held my hand and caressed my forehead. She kept checking in with me all day during her shift to ask how I was doing. I have many nurses who care, but I am truly blessed to have Jessica as my nurse because she goes above and beyond what is expected of a nurse. She understands that I am a fellow human being who is going through one of the worst times of my life and she gives me love and compassion when she sees my need. Jessica is such a comfort during this difficult time. I love her for always encouraging me and keeping my spirits up with her silly dance.
