Jessi deserves to be recognized as an incredible DAISY Nurse Leader. From the moment I began to express my career dreams and goals with Jessi, she sat down with me and discussed my plan, asked what she could do to help me get there, and followed through until I ultimately got where I needed to be. Something that has stood out to me significantly about Jessi and truly made me think the world of her was when I told her I was considering a position change in a new role at Children's and she specifically stated, "As much as I selfishly don't want you to leave my team, I want to keep you within our organization and if it means supporting you in a new role then I will do just that; our patients would be so lucky to have you in that role as well. Please let me know what I can do to help you prepare or get there." Not only did she consider my career path and what I wanted but she took the time to truly help me create realistic goals to get me to where I wanted to be; even if it meant more work for her in finding a new person to fulfill my role. She went above and beyond to help me as well. It would have been easy for her to tell me to go for it and then watch me do it but instead, she HELPED ME GET THERE! Because of leaders like her, I decided to come back to the FLEX team when I was accepted into school instead of finding a PRN job elsewhere; she is a huge reason why I stayed. I am a better nurse because of her, and I am now on the path to fulfilling my dream career because of her leadership and selflessness. I cannot thank you enough, Jessi, for all of your guidance, advice, and support. You have helped me get to where I am today, and I know you impact so many other nurses in the same way. Thank you!
