She most definitely helped to take away a lot of my anxiety and is a true patient care professional.
Jessica greeted me warmly on my arrival to the 4th floor for post-surgical care and set my mind at ease as she assured me she and the staff would be there for all my wants and needs. She explained how to use the call buttons on the nurse remote, how to adjust the bed and explained to me the more horizontal I lay would help me avoid the post operation headache that can occur from the spinal meds I had received. I cannot recount the number of times she was in my room checking on me, giving me my meds, and introducing me to the nurse and staff taking over when she left for the day. I was fortunate to have her for two days of my three-day stay, very fortunate. In my mind, we became quick friends, but I believe she has that effect on most of her patients. She most definitely helped to take away a lot of my anxiety and is a true patient care professional. I’d had a few problems during the night, and when her shift started the next day, she came in and discussed the problems that had occurred and, once again, to reassure me. She made me feel that as her patient, I had her full attention, and she was there to help me get better in any way she could. I remember when she got off her shift and on her way home, she stopped by to wish me well – that meant a lot. If and when I stay in this hospital (I would recommend KSB), if I could, I would request Jessica as my “on call” nurse.
