Jessica excels not only in her role as a GI lab nurse but also as a Medical/Surgical nurse. On numerous occasions over the last year, Jessica has enthusiastically and frequently on short notice picked up a shift on one of the Med/Surg units, Senior Retreat, and PACU where there are dire needs for additional nursing staff. She does this in addition to fulfilling all her duties/shifts within the GI lab setting. She is always willing to go wherever she is needed and has a positive attitude about helping others and making sure patients receive quality care. Her work on the Med/Surg and other units when she floats to these locations is stellar, and her co-workers and charge nurses have commented on numerous occasions how satisfied they are to have her as part of the care team.

Recently, she was the only RN on-call for the GI lab when a patient with a food bolus presented to the ED, and the removal of said bolus ultimately had to be completed in the OR with general anesthesia. Jessica, with the assistance of a GI lab tech, came in promptly, ensured the procedure completely, then recovered the patient from anesthesia independently and without complaint with the supervisor RN on duty. She always shows professionalism, collaboration, critical-thinking skills, empathy for patients and other care team members, and patient-centered care. Her positive attitude and willingness to help whenever/wherever she is able to are greatly appreciated!
