I took my 3-year-old daughter into the DeWitt ER on Sunday evening for an injury above her eye, though minor, the injury required medical intervention. Jessica RN greeted us at the emergency room entrance with a kind and caring demeanor. She spoke with a gentle and understanding voice to my daughter from the second she saw her. She kindly took us to a room and took my daughter's information, acknowledging that my daughter had brought her "baby" with her for comfort. Jessica asked what the baby's name was and acted just as concerned about my daughter's "baby" as she was for C. She listened when C informed her of the baby's "health concerns" as well. Jessica RN would complete the needed assessment on C and then would let C complete the assessment on "baby." Often saying, "First C and then baby." Jessica explained every step to C prior to completing any medical assessment/procedure. This eased C's fear and made our trip to the ER successful and less stressful for both of us. Jessica RN truly shines and is an exceptional example of the Genesis way as she "provides compassionate, quality health services to all those in need." Thank you, Jessica RN, for being just the nurse a Mother and her child need!
