August 2026 Honoree
Jessica Hacker, RN
After my surgery, Jessica H. was incredibly kind and provided outstanding care. She thoroughly reviewed all of my discharge instructions with me and made sure I understood everything.
I was determined to leave without any assistive devices, but she strongly encouraged me to take something to help. She didn’t have to do that—she could have let me leave the way I wanted—but she chose to step in and make sure I was safe. She went out of her way to get me a new set of crutches and said she would follow up with the order afterward.
I just want to sincerely thank Jessica H. because I truly did need those crutches. After leaving, I experienced a few small falls and was much weaker than I expected. Her quick thinking and determination made a huge difference for me.
Thank you, Jessica, for your compassion, your judgment, and for going above and beyond. You truly cared about me as a patient, and I am so grateful. You are exactly the kind of nurse Aurora needs. I appreciate you more than you know.
